HONORING THE LEGACY, INSPIRING THE FUTURE: African-American Military History Brought to Life.
Master Sergeant Hubert C. Jackson, Jr. (Ret.) masterfully weaves his twenty-four years of military service with the overlooked history of Black soldiers who fought for a country that denied them full citizenship. From Civil War's United States Colored Troops to modern-day heroes, Jackson illuminates the profound courage and unwavering loyalty of African American service members despite systemic discrimination.
As both a Green Beret and scholar, Jackson offers unique insight into this dual battlefield experience...fighting external enemies while battling for equality at home. This powerful memoir-history stands as both tribute to forgotten patriots and urgent reminder that understanding our complete military history is essential to building an inclusive future worthy of their sacrifices.
